SSO / Identity Integration
RollCall + PIPs by K12 Solutions
Let parents sign in to RollCall with the PIPs portal account they already use.
Book a DemoWhat the PIPs by K12 Solutions integration does
RollCall supports SAML 2.0 single sign-on with PIPs, the school portal from K12 Solutions, so parents can open the RollCall app and sign in through the portal they already use. RollCall acts as the service provider and delegates authentication to PIPs, so there is no separate RollCall password to issue, reset or store. As with any identity provider, single sign-on can be enabled for administrators, parents/guardians, or both.
Data flow
One-way syncPIPs handles authentication via SAML 2.0. RollCall acts as the service provider and delegates sign-in to PIPs, so no passwords are stored in RollCall.
| Data | Direction |
|---|---|
| Authentication (SAML 2.0)Your identity provider verifies the user and returns a signed SAML assertion | PIPs → RollCall |
| Session tokensRollCall stores only the resulting session tokens, never the password | PIPs → RollCall |
What you need
- A PIPs tenant with administrator access
- A RollCall account with SSO enabled
Setup
Create a SAML app in PIPs
Working with K12 Solutions, register RollCall as a SAML 2.0 service provider in your PIPs portal. Add RollCall's ACS (Assertion Consumer Service) URL as the reply URL so PIPs knows where to send the SAML response.
Share the SAML metadata with RollCall
Provide the IdP metadata (sign-in URL and certificate) to RollCall and choose who can use SSO: administrators, parents/guardians, or both.
Test and roll out
Confirm a test sign-in works, then communicate the single sign-on option to your users.
